Eso es el sesgo de apoyo a la elecci\u00f3n en juego.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el sesgo de apoyo a la elecci\u00f3n?<\/h2>\n<p>El sesgo de apoyo a la elecci\u00f3n es la tendencia a justificar las decisiones pasadas recordando selectivamente los aspectos positivos de ellas e ignorando los negativos. Este sesgo puede ser un arma de doble filo: si bien puede darnos confianza en nuestras decisiones, tambi\u00e9n puede impedirnos aprender de nuestros errores y tomar mejores decisiones en el futuro.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 se produce el sesgo de apoyo a la elecci\u00f3n?<\/h2>\n<p>El sesgo de apoyo a la elecci\u00f3n se produce porque nuestro cerebro est\u00e1 programado para buscar coherencia en nuestras creencias y acciones. Cuando tomamos una decisi\u00f3n, nuestro cerebro quiere creer que fue la correcta, por lo que recuerda de forma selectiva la informaci\u00f3n que respalda esa creencia. Adem\u00e1s, admitir que cometimos un error puede resultar dif\u00edcil para nuestro ego, por lo que tendemos a pasar por alto los aspectos negativos de nuestras elecciones para evitar sentir que hemos tomado una mala decisi\u00f3n. <a href=\"https:\/\/pubsonline.informs.org\/doi\/abs\/10.1287\/mksc.4.3.199\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(Thaler, 1985)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, una persona puede optar por mantener una tarjeta de cr\u00e9dito con una tasa de inter\u00e9s alta y una cuota anual porque cree que ofrece mejores recompensas, a pesar de que hay pruebas de que una tarjeta sin comisiones y con una tasa de inter\u00e9s m\u00e1s baja podr\u00eda ahorrarle m\u00e1s dinero a largo plazo. Siguen apoyando su decisi\u00f3n de mantener la tarjeta con una tasa de inter\u00e9s alta porque ya han invertido tiempo y energ\u00eda en el programa de recompensas y sienten una sensaci\u00f3n de lealtad hacia la marca.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfC\u00f3mo se puede utilizar el sesgo de apoyo a la elecci\u00f3n para mejorar el bienestar financiero de los clientes?<\/h2>\n<p>Si bien el sesgo de apoyo a la elecci\u00f3n puede parecer algo negativo, las instituciones financieras pueden utilizarlo para alentar a los clientes a tomar mejores decisiones financieras. Una forma de hacerlo es destacando los aspectos positivos de las elecciones que los clientes han hecho en el pasado, al tiempo que presentan opciones alternativas que pueden haber sido incluso mejores. Por ejemplo, un banco puede recordarle a un cliente que tom\u00f3 una buena decisi\u00f3n al comenzar a ahorrar dinero, pero tambi\u00e9n sugerirle que podr\u00eda haber ahorrado a\u00fan m\u00e1s si hubiera aprovechado las tasas de inter\u00e9s m\u00e1s altas en ciertas cuentas.<\/p>\n<p>Otra forma de aprovechar el sesgo que favorece la elecci\u00f3n es animar a los clientes a reflexionar sobre sus decisiones pasadas y considerar si se ajustan a sus objetivos financieros actuales. Al alentar a los clientes a pensar cr\u00edticamente sobre sus decisiones pasadas, los bancos pueden ayudarlos a tomar decisiones m\u00e1s informadas en el futuro. <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.1177\/002224379002700203?casa_token=T1BiQoabjkIAAAAA:gfLP0aGHpYhzHDQmkAu_o16HncimMKmoHYvnZlZY_nAzYMzBaWIa0wbixKVD15yFmz9__D6EGLJt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(Simonson y Carmon, 1994)<\/a>Este proceso se puede simplificar si se ofrece a los clientes una visi\u00f3n clara de sus gastos, presupuestos y objetivos dentro de sus canales bancarios digitales.
